Smart city indicators: Towards exploring potential linkages to disaster resilience abilities

Recent advances in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have transformed all aspects of human life. Enabled by these advances, over the past few decades, many smart city initiatives been developed across world. Subsequently, various efforts made to develop indicators frameworks for assessment cities. Generally, cities are expected enhance quality life provide solutions deal with societal challenges. One major challenge is increase frequency intensity disasters adverse events. Therefore, contribute enhancing disaster resilience. Integrating resilience thinking into likely promote better attention contributions Against this background, through reviewing literature, I first introduce a comprehensive list assessing smartness. Multiple related economy, people, governance, environment, mobility, living data dimensions listed. Next, explore if aligned four abilities: planning, absorption, recovery, adaptation. Results show that particularly linked planning absorption abilities. More recovery adaptation abilities is, therefore, needed.
